Bluegrass Crosswords: Blue Grass Boys

Event Details

Bluegrass Today Crosswords

Monday October 12 is the anniversary of the day in 1984 when Kenny Baker walked off the stage and quit Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys. (Look up the story, it’s a good one, although not as good as the one about Kenny mopping the outhouse at Bean Blossom.)

We’ve already done a Kenny Baker puzzle, but one of my most faithful puzzle testers, Richard Burkett, suggested an all-Blue Grass Boy puzzle, so this seems like a good time for that.

Richard points out there are over 150 former members of Bill Monroe’s band, and I’ll bet at some point each of them gave serious consideration to following Kenny’s lead. We can’t get them all in one puzzle, but we managed to fit in 36 of them. And at 84 clues, this is our biggest puzzle ever!

Note: we’ll use “BGB” for Blue Grass Boys in the clues for brevity’s sake.

Remember, you can use the “Assist” menu (or the light bulb icon, if you’re on a mobile device) if you need a little help.

Enjoy! And visit Bluegrass Today every Saturday morning for a brand new bluegrass puzzle.
