Red, White and Bluegrass this weekend

Our friend Dennis Jones, familiar to anyone who listens to North Carolina radio powerhouse WNCW over the air or online, will be using his position as an M.C. during this weekend’s Red, White and Bluegrass festival to send us ongoing photo coverage from the stage.

This will be the 8th annual festival under this name in Morganton, NC which has a decidely traditional bluegrass vibe. Headliners this year include Larry Sparks, Lonesome River Band, The Boxcars, Dailey & Vincent, Seldom Scene, Mountain Heart with Tony Rice, J.D. Crowe, Blue Highway, Ricky Skaggs and more.

The festival begins today (June 30), and runs through July 4, ending with a big fireworks display Monday night.

Dennis will also be conducting some interviews with the artists for WNCW, and hopefully he will tip us off to anything juicy that comes up! Keep an eye here on Bluegrass Today through the holiday weekend for Dennis’ photos.
