Andy Edmonds to South Carolina Broadcasters

Event Details

South Carolina BroadcastersThe South Carolina Broadcasters, a bluegrass and old time group from North Carolina, have announced the addition of Andy Edmonds to the band on fiddle.

Edmonds, from Pilot Mountain, was raised in a family of traditional musicians, and learned the fine art of fiddle while playing banjo and guitar with Benton Flippen & The Smokey Valley Boys.

Ivy Sheppard, who plays banjo and sings with her husband David Sheppard on guitar, says that they are glad to have Edmonds on board.

“Music is an integral part of our lives, and we are thrilled to welcome Andy, who also dedicates his life to the rich music of the Blue Ridge region. We look forward to playing as much music with him as we possibly can!”

She’s not kidding about music being their life. Ivy hosts the popular Surry Spotlight show on WPAQ in Mount Airy, and David is the in-house luthier for the Lowe Vintage Instrument Company in Burlington.

Here’s a new video the Broadcasters have posted for Days Of Grey And Black, a Cullen Galyean song shot yesterday at WPAQ’s historic studio.

Look for The South Carolina Broadcasters at MerleFest on Friday if you’re in attendance.
