Point to Point video from Jon Stickley Trio

Event Details

stickleyJon Stickley is among the many young string players who employ the technique they’ve developed playing bluegrass to write, record, and perform music that branches out a bit from what Bill Monroe left us.

In Jon’s case, it’s original instrumental music based on flatpicking guitar, but drawing on jazz and rock influences. His Jon Stickley Trio has recently released their second album, Lost At Last, which employs an unlikely power trio format of guitar, fiddle, and drums.

Jon is on guitar, assisted by Lyndsay Pruett on fiddle and Patrick Armitage on drums.

Their new music video for Point To Point is a perfect demonstration of what they do, showcasing Jon’s remarkable facility with the guitar. Things start out gently, but the music goes into overdrive before the end.
