Confederate Railroad goes bluegrass

Event Details

Lucky To Be Alive - Confederate RailroadSouthern rockers Confederate Railroad have a new album out today, and it retains their well-established image as gruff and gritty bad boys. There’s plenty of Waylon and Willie to be found – quite literally, as guests Willie Nelson, John Anderson, and Colt Ford appear on a remake of the band’s tongue-in-cheek hit from 1993, Trashy Women.

Other than that remake, all the music on Lucky To Be Alive is new, and what you’d expect from country rock heroes like Confederate Railroad – with one exception. Don’t Feel As Young As I Used To is a full-on bluegrass number, performed with the assistance of some real bluegrass heroes, and the guys seem to have had a big time doing it.

Lead singer Danny Shirley shot this short video to share his thoughts about their grassy turn, and how it came to be.

Lucky To Be Alive is available wherever you find country music for sale. Confederate Railroad is in the middle of a summer tour celebrating the new release. Check for dates on their web site.
