For their new single, Grasstime has chosen the title track from their upcoming album, Waltz of Time, a poignant song about dealing with dementia that may tug a bit on the heartstrings. If you know, you know.
Guitarist and vocalist Robbie Morris says that this song hit him hard when producer Kristy Cox passed it his way.
“Waltz of Time resonated with me the moment Kristy sent it to me. I instantly knew I wanted to record it when I heard it, because of what my family faced with my mother, Deloris, passing from Lewy Body dementia, and my grandpa and namesake Robert’s journey with Alzheimer’s. It was written by Mike Richards and Laura Leigh Jones and learning that it was inspired by Mike’s own journey with his mom Pat’s diagnosis, it instantly moved me to tears. Making me wonder if I would ever be able to sing it without crying.
This song is so meaningful to me. I know these horrid diseases impact so many people and I hope it brings pleasant memories to the listener of happier times.”

Robbie sings the lead, with Kristy adding harmony, plus studio support from Dustin Benson on guitar, Kelsey Crews on banjo, Jason Bailey on mandolin, Ellie Hakanson on fiddles, and Mike Bub on bass.
