Who has the best hair in bluegrass?

| September 19, 2012 | 14 Comments

Heading into IBMA week, and our big Red Carpet pre-show event next Thursday at 7:45 p.m. (EDT), it seems like a good time to settle one of the most compelling debates in all of bluegrass music.

Not acoustic v.s. electric bass, old school v.s. big tent, or even Earl v.s. Don.

No… today’s burning question is: Who has the best hair in bluegrass?

Won’t you help us settle this burning issue by voting in this week’s poll? Choose one of our suggestions, or enter your own.

  1. This shouldn’t even be a contest. Del’s hair could be inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame in its own right.

  2. Avatar of Chris Skaryd Chris Skaryd says:

This was a very tough one, but Del has to win. I so very wanted to vote for Sammy though.

    • Like Chris, I wanted to vote for Sammy. But as I was reading the article, Del McCoury was the first name to come to mind, so my vote has to go there.

The second name I thought of was Larry Sparks with that awesome widow’s peak. I was sorry not to see Larry on the list. He needs a vote too!

  3. Avatar of Ivor Trueman Ivor Trueman says:

    What would ‘Big Bruce’ say…?

  4. Avatar of John Keith John Keith says:

I’d love to hear what Bill Monroe would say about that sorry looking Ricky Skaggs.

  5. Avatar of Wes Lassiter Wes Lassiter says:

There is only one choice and that is Del. I shouldn’t even be a discussion.

  6. Avatar of Chris Jones Chris Jones says:

I have to put in my two cents for the Larry Sparks write-in.

  7. Avatar of Chris Quinn Chris Quinn says:

I wrote in Larry Sparks too. Hair!!? More like a helmet.

He could fly off a Harley, land head first, take an Aspirin, and then sing “John Deere Tractor”.

  8. Avatar of Dennis Jones Dennis Jones says:

Amanda Smith has beautiful hair and Becky Buller’s RED curls are fantastic.
