Todd Parks to Sam Bush Band

Sam Bush has announced a new face on stage with The Sam Bush Band.

Todd Parks has stepped in on bass, filling the large shoes of Byron House who handled both acoustic and electric with Bush since 1999. Parks is recently departed from his gig with Jerry Douglas, with whom he had worked since 2006.

Todd grew up in Atlanta where he was born, and moved to Cleveland, TN when he was 12 years old. After high school, he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree in String Performance and Jazz Studies. He also taught at UT Knoxville for a year before moving to Nashville in 2003.

He worked primarily in jazz and R&B circles before hooking up with Jerry Douglas.

He joins Bush’s current band: Scott Vestal on banjo, Stephen Mougin on guitar and Chris Brown on drums. Bush, of course, remains on mandolin, fiddle and lead vocals.
