Services for Shelby King

Event Details

Following on yesterday’s sorrowful news about the death of Shelby Ann King, daughter of bluegrass icon James King and his ex-wife, Renee, we now have information about visitation and funeral arrangements.

There will be a private, family-only service on Thursday (12/13). On Friday, the family will receive visitors at the Bennett Funeral Home in Chesterfield, VA from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Shelby’s funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Chesterfield Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend.

There are several options to send condolences to the family.

James can be reached at:

The James King Family
P.O. Box 10179
Danville, VA 24543

Renee can be reached here:

The Shelby King Family
12401 Spring Run Drive
Amelia, VA 23002

There is also a guest book on the funeral home web site where both public and private messages can be conveyed.

James’ wife Julie asked us to share these words of gratitude for all the kindness they have been shown.

“Again, thank everyone for all the calls, posts, texts and emails.

God Bless! Prayer works in numbers….so please keep ’em coming. Peace.”
