Ryan Cavanaugh touring with Jeff & Vida

Banjo phenom Ryan Cavanaugh just let us know that he will be touring this month with Jeff & Vida, supporting them in a trio format for a number of shows in North Carolina.

Ryan is the cover boy on the August issue of Banjo NewsLetter, where he is interviewed at length about his explorations in modern jazz on the five string, and tells us he is looking forward to some forward roll banjo as well.

“In between booking for Ryan Cavanaugh & No Man’s Land, I’m delighted to say that I’m keeping up with my bluegrass chops by taking gigs with other bands. This month it is Jeff and Vida.”

The duo obviously have an ear for strong, contemporary banjoists. They have also called on Jake Schepps who has recorded and toured with the Jeff & Vida band.

Check for their dates online.
