James Reams talks Pioneers of Bluegrass
While visiting a few weeks ago at West Virginia’s Pickin’ in the Panhandle festival, we had the occasion to speak with James Reams about his upcoming film project, Making History with Pioneers of Bluegrass.
James has dedicated almost ten years to compiling interview footage with first and second generation bluegrass artists, and is now in the process of editing them all into a finished film.
As he tells us in the video below, there are candid discussions with such luminaries as Jimmy Martin, Melvin Goins, Kenny Baker, Bobby Osborne, Bill Yates, Josh Graves, Curly Seckler, Patsy and Donna Stoneman and more than a dozen others in the can.
Contributions can still be made to the completion of Pioneers of Bluegrass on Kickstarter. That campaign will end October 27, with a planned released for the film in 2013.
