Brandon Shuping back to the Gabeharts

Jim & Valerie GabehartJim & Valerie Gabehart have welcomed mandolinist Brandon Shuping back to the band. He’s been a regular, recurring member, and Jim tells us that it’s either Brandon’s 3rd or 4th tenure with the band over the past dozen or so years.

In between stints with the Gabeharts, Brandon has toured with James King, Ernie Thacker & Route 23, the Bluegrass Strangers, and the Rarely Herd.

Shuping will be a familiar name to long-time grassers, from the long career of Brandon’s dad, Garland Shuping, and his many years with Bluegrass Alliance and Jim & Jesse.

Jim Gabehart says that he and Valerie are happy to welcome Brandon back to the group.

“Though we are sad that Steve Acord could not continue performing with us, we are pleased to have Brandon join the group and excited to have someone with his talent and experience fill the vacancy.”

In addition to Jim on banjo, Valerie on guitar and Brandon on mandolin, the group is completed by Buck Green on bass.

The Gabeharts also recently announced that they are being represented by Make Welcome Entertainment. More details about the band can be found on their web site.
