Just before Christmas, Alison Krauss & Union Station were guests on Tavis Smiley’s program on PBS. The December 23 edition of the show included a lengthy sit-down interview with Alison, plus a live performance of Paper Airplane with Sam Bush sitting in.
Smiley has a reputation as an incisive interviewer, and he brings his skills to bear in drawing Alison into retrospection about her career. He seems genuinely taken aback at times by Ms. Krauss’ famously self-deprecating wit, as the two engage in a fascinating and revealing conversation.
