Where Lonely Lives from Songs From The Road Band

Songs From The Road Band, which started out as a side project for a group of jamgrass artists, is about to release their seventh album together. That’s quite a track record for a side project!

They have a new single available today from that album, Where Lonely Lives, written by bassist Charles Humphrey III and good friend of the band, Darren Nicholson.

As the title suggests, it’s a lonesome song of heartbreak and desolation, with that wonderful bluegrass attribute of presenting such a desperate and dismal tale in a lively and uplifting fashion.

The song kicks off with Gabe Epstein’s banjo, and is sung by mandolinist Mark Schimick, with further support from Sam Wharton on guitar, and James Schlender on fiddle. It gives a good look at how a band of jamgrass veterans pull off a traditional bluegrass number.

Have a listen…

Where Lonely Lives is available now from popular download and streaming services online. Radio programmers will find the track at AirPlay Direct.
