Sweden’s G2 has released a music video for We Were Kings, which will be the first single from their upcoming Mind Over Matter CD.
The guys are very excited about the CD, as it is their first to have been recorded in the US (in Nashville), and their first working with an independent producer (Erick Jaskowiak). Though they won’t be able to return for World of Bluegrass this year, the documentary film that David Elfgren made of the process, also titled Mind Over Matter, will be screened as part of the IBMA Bluegrass Film Festival this year.
We Were Kings conveys a sentiment familiar to young adults, contemplating their own childhood through their children’s eyes. Ulf Hansson directed the video, which features renowned Swedish water-colorist Björn Bernström.
The single will hit on September 9, with the full album dropping October 9.
