Video of Vassar in the studio

Event Details

And speaking of Vassar Clements…

Ampersand Records has made some video footage of Vassar in the studio available on their web site. It is a fairly large file, but does offer a memorable glimpse of a master at work. This is essentially a music video, intended one would suppose for broadcast or distribution to outlets that feature this sort of programming.

The tune is The Windjammer, a Clements composition in a funk/blues groove – not a bluegrass tune at all, but brilliantly played, as one would expect.

Bob Harris, Vassar’s guitarist for the last 15 years of his life, also shares some thoughts on his friend on the front page of the Ampersand site, and there is some info on what appears to be an unfinished Clements CD. Scroll down a bit for the video.
