The Mountain Song Festival, hosted each year in September by The Steep Canyon Rangers in Brevard, NC to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County, appears to have been another great success. Artists from all over the world performed for a large and enthusiastic audience at the Brevard Music Center.
Rangers banjo man Graham Sharp sent along a quick wrap up, along with some fine photos from Shelly Swanger.
“This year was the 10th anniversary of Mountain Song in Brevard NC, so we celebrated by growing it to three days and adding more great music. We’re proud to donate $80,000 to the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County (NC) this year, bringing the 10 year total over $500,000. Special thanks must be given to all the sponsors and volunteers who make this happen; as well as John Felty and Woody Platt who work like mad to put the show on, and all the great fans who spent the weekend with us.”
