No more String Cheese

Event Details

String Cheese IncidentJust as fans of alt-acoustic supergroup Nickel Creek have had to adapt to the news that they are hanging it up next year, jamgrass followers are faced with the word that String Cheese Incident has announced plans to disband in 2007.

Billboard has a story (dated 11/6) on their web site that says that the dissolution is a result of String Cheese guitarist Bill Nershi’s interest in pursuing other projects, such as his current release with Honytonk Homeslice.

From Billboard:

String Cheese’s final tour will include a Thanksgiving stop in Atlanta and a New Year’s stand in San Francisco, as well as dates in Colorado. According to a statement, there are no plans for the band “beyond summer of 2007.”

That echoes a similar statement on the band’s web site.
