Making of video from The Bankesters

Event Details

Looking Forward - The BankestersThe Bankesters have shot a music video for Don’t Try To Be Anyone Else, from their latest CD, Looking Forwardwhich was independently released this summer.

In a major break with recording convention, the family brought Stephen Mougin and his gear into the Bankester family home this past March, where he produced and tracked the entire project. Mougin recounted his experiences for us in a series of pieces on Bluegrass Today.

Don’t Try To Be Anyone Else, written by Dan Murph and Lisa Shaffer, fits perfectly within the band’s family-friendly, positive-vibe style, and it’s “just be yourself” message so impressed director Carlos Torres that he put together this “making of” cut in advance of the official video release on September 17.

The final video will feature a number of cameo appearances from a host of familiar bluegrass faces, and when it premieres later this month, the Bankesters will be hosting a contest here at Bluegrass Today and award valuable prizes for whomever can identify the most bit players.

Prizes, donated by D’Addario, include 10 sets of EJ16 guitar strings, their NS Mini Headstock Tuner, NS Dual-Action Capo, and Pro-Winder.

Check back on the 17th to try your hand at winning the D’Addario swag. No fair if you took part in the shoot!
