Lonesome Highway turns back the clock

Event Details

Lonesome HighwayWest Virginia’s Lonesome Highway has announced some major personnel changes heading into the 2015 season. Guitarist/vocalist Buddy Dunlap and bassist Cody Brown have departed to focus on their other musical venture, Bud’s Collective, who have recently released a strong new live album.

Fans of the band will see a familiar look, however, when they catch Lonesome Highway, as former members Tim Southerly and Tom Suddath have returned to the fold, Tim on guitar, and Tom on bass. Both had spent time with the group in the past, though not at the same time.

They join founding members Jimmy Kountz on mandolin and John Arnold on banjo, along with long-time fiddler, Mason Wright.

All agree that the parting was amicable, with Dunlap experiencing the two-way pull since launching Bud’s Collective to focus on his original material two years ago. There he performs with his younger brother Jack on mandolin, Gina Clowes on banjo, and Cody on bass.

The new/old version of Lonesome Highway will debut this weekend at The Bottling Works in Romney, WV on April 11. Fans and friends can follow the band online, or on Facebook.
