Jenni Lyn Gardner & The Palmetto Bluegrass Band

Jenni Lyn Gardner & The Palmetto Bluegrass BandJenni Lyn Gardner has had a big month this February. As a member of Della Mae, she played her first band show of 2015 at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival near Boston, with their new bass player.

That same weekend was also the official debut of her own group, Jenni Lyn Gardner & The Palmetto Bluegrass Band, with members in both Nashville and Boston, two cities where Jenni Lyn has been based in recent years. They did a set at Joe Val, and a show at Cambridge’s notorious Cantab Lounge.

With Miss Gardner are Kyle Tuttle on banjo, Josh Dayton on bass, Laura Orshaw on fiddle, and Tony Watt guitar. Jenni Lyn plays mandolin and sings lead, with vocal assistance from Kyle and Laura.

While in Boston, they recorded this live music video of one of her songs, The Blues Have Got Me Down, at The Music Emporium. It was shot and edited by Andy Cambria.

Though Gardner will be primarily occupied with Della Mae, she plans to play more Palmetto Band shows this year as her schedule allows. I mean, a girl’s got to tickle her bluegrass bone from time to time.

She can be reached through her web site.
