Gold Heart is taking their family-style bluegrass to central Europe this month, visiting Austria and Germany on their travels. They have promised to send along a few reports as they go. This one comes from guitarist and middle sister Jocey Gold.
Vienna, Austria is an amazing city and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a true honor to perform in the same city that hailed so many musical greats. We shared our music with a lively group of Viennese people who get really excited about good bluegrass. They told us that Gold Heart was the first bluegrass band to ever play the theater.
Vienna is known for its special coffee and anybody who knows us, knows that we have a serious love for excellent Java. Hotel Sacher was the perfect spot for a much needed cup and a slice of their world famous Sacher Torte, was such a treat.
Vienna is a bustling city with gorgeous architecture. I wish we had more time to walk around the shoppes, cafés and parks but we are up and out early this morning headed back to Germany.
Right now we are in waiting in line on the Austria/Germany Border. This afternoon we are teaching music in the schools and ending the day out with a concert.
