While not exactly a blog, the Gibson Brothers have a journal on their site that is updated as they have time to write from the road. Yesterday I noticed that Eric had posted an interesting entry about songwriting. Here’s an excerpt.
I have learned to never try forcing a song. What I mean is, I don’t like to sit down with my guitar or banjo and say, “I’m going to write a song about this today.” When I have done that, those songs have never turned out to be keepers.
