Frank Solivan has become one of bluegrass music’s most entertaining performers, touring with his band, Dirty Kitchen, all over the US.
But like every artist, he had a long route to get where he is today. Starting as a young man in Alaska, he learned to play in a musical family, and left for a stint in the US Navy Band Country Current which took him to the DC area where he lives currently as a solo artist and band leader. Along the way, a great many people influenced or assisted Frank on his journey, and his next album is a celebration of those contributions.
Family, Friends & Heroes is due to hit next week, and Solivan and Compass Records have prepared this mini-documentary explaining and introducing some of the folks and the music that will be included.
The album is due to hit on March 4, and pre-orders for autographed copies are enabled on the Compass web site.
