Dailey & Vincent statement on Stockman/Cherryholmes

We posted on Monday (8/8) with the news that B.J. Cherryholmes had taken the full-time fiddle position with Dailey & Vincent, and today the band has a statement about the switch.

They acknowledge the fact that Jesse Stockman, who had been playing fiddle with them since late 2009, was forced to resign for health reasons.

Per doctor’s orders, former Dailey & Vincent fiddle player Jesse Stockman recently departed the band after suffering an injury to the wrist.

“We hate losing our fiddler and my longtime friend, Jesse Stockman,” notes Jamie Dailey.  “When it comes down to physical well-being, sometimes you don’t have a choice.  And Jesse didn’t.”

Darrin Vincent adds, “While we’re going to sorely miss Jesse, we know that B.J. will do an amazing job of carrying Dailey & Vincent forward.  We’re very pleased to announce him as the newest member of the band.”

That makes the D&V lineup Jamie Dailey on guitar, Darrin Vincent on bass, Joe Dean on banjo, Jeff Parker on mandolin, Christian Davis on guitar, and Cherryholmes on fiddle. All the guys sing, with Jamie and Darrin taking most of the leads, though Davis is notable for his bass vocals, and Parker for his memorable moments in the spotlight.

You can check their schedule online for a chance to see them in your part of the world.
