Calling all Banjo Babes

Event Details

Banjo Babes

Are you a Banjo Babe? Would you like to be featured in the upcoming 2015 Banjo Babes Calendar?

Erin Inglish is once again collaborating with other young banjo pickin’ girls to produce a promotional calendar and CD. The project is designed to bring attention to female banjo players, regardless of style, with both an over-the-top individual photograph and an audio track from each of 12 featured artists.

But don’t get the wrong idea. They aren’t looking for cheesecake, swimsuit, or high fashion photography. The idea is more to have a chuckle at the expense of the stereotype, or as Erin describes it, “a just plain fun, tongue-in-cheek expression of feminine empowerment.”

In addition to a photo, each selected artist will supply a representative audio track for inclusion on the CD. The theme for 2015 is “The Future,” which should be expressed in both the audio and photo.

More details can be found online, but the deadline to register for the ’15 calendar in next week, September 26.

Only a limited number of the Banjo Babes calendar/CD will be created, and only the collaborating artists will be entitled to offer them for sale. As each markets to their own set of fans and friends, the music of all the others is supported as well.
