Brand New Strings CD release party

Stay Tuned - Brand New StringsJimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in Nashville, TN was the location for a CD release party for Rural Rhythm recording artists Brand New Strings on Friday evening, March 23rd. Fiddler Preston Schmidt, who is employed at Margaritaville as a sound engineer, arranged for this non-traditional bluegrass venue to host the BNS event. Their new CD Stay Tuned goes on sale Tuesday (3/27).

The band includes Randall Massengill (lead/ harmony vocals, guitar, metal body guitar), Mike Ramsey (lead /harmomy vocals, mandolin), Stuart Wyrick (banjo), Preston Schmidt (fiddle), and Tony Mowell (upright bass). Guest musicians on the album include Corey Meuchel (percussion), Brandon Bostic (resonator guitar), and Paul Niehaus (steel guitar).

Bostic and Meuchel both appeared with the band on Friday. A special guest for the event was Andrew Cantrell, son of Kyle Cantrell, Program Director for Sirius-XM’s Bluegrass Junction, who joined the group on guitar.
