Bluegrass Kinda Christmas from The Roys

Event Details

roys_christmasIt looks like a big year for bluegrass Christmas music, with several artists releasing new project for the holidays.

The latest to announce is The Roys, whose Bluegrass Kinda Christmas is set for a November 18 release on Rural Rhythm Records. It’s a set of mostly class holiday fare, with a new composition from Lee and Elaine serving as the title track.

Included are familiar numbers like O Holy Night, Christmas Time’s A Comin’, Winter Wonderland, and Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy, plus Merle Haggard’s If We Make It Through December, all done bluegrass style.

The album was recorded with The Roys’ road band: Elaine Roy on guitar, Lee Roy on mandolin, Clint White on fiddle, and Daniel Patrick on banjo. Guest Josh Swift plays resonator guitar on one track. Patrick has since left the group.

Pre-orders are enabled now in iTunes, and radio programmers may download the tracks from Airplay Direct.
