Bluegrass and acoustic music from CMA on WSM

WSM radio in Nashville will be broadcasting live this weekend from CMA Fest 2010. They will carry all of the live performances from the Durango Boots Acoustic Corner Stage at the Nashville Convention Center, starting this morning (6/10) at 11:00 a.m. (CDT).

Today’s shows will include Jim Lauderdale and Josh Williams among a loger list of country acts like Gene Watson, Larry Gatlin and Pam Tillis. On Friday Donna Ulisse, Randy Kohrs, Shawn Camp and Marty Raybon each have sets.

We heard yesterday from Phil Bankester, the patriarch of the singing Bankester Family, who will appear on Saturday at noon, Nashville time.

“We’re thrilled and honored to have been chosen to play on the WSM/Durango Boots Acoustic Corner Stage and look forward to the opportunity. We’ll be playing some material from our most recent CD as well as a couple that will be on the new project due out late this summer or early fall. For anyone who plans to be around at the CMA Music Fest, the stage will be located on the second floor of the Nashville Convention Center.

We’re playing Friday evening in Illinois and plan to drive most of the way to Nashville that night so we can be there bright and fresh on Saturday.”

The show closes out on Sunday, and WSM’s live programming will feature shows from Cherryholmes, The Grascals, Balsam Range and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.

You can listen online at www.wsmonline.com, or anywhere that the powerful WSM AM 650 signal can be received. A full CMA Fest broadcast schedule can be found on the WSM site.
