Audie Blaylock and Redline will be making at stop in Washington, DC on Friday morning to perform live on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country.
They’ll be on with Katy Daley at 9:00 a.m. (EDT) to pick and sing. The show can be heard in the DC Metro market at 105.5 FM or HD radio 88.5-2, and worldwide via their online stream.
Katy tells us that their set will be done the old time way.
“This is a first for us. This is NOT an in-studio performance. It’s an In-Control Room performance (maybe out of control). The studio was booked, but I didn’t want to miss the chance to have them in.
They have played for us several times at IBMA and have always done great, high-energy sets. They’re out at Tom Mindte’s recording studio working on a project for banjo picker Russ Carson, so I called and said I can’t get the studio, but come in if you can and we’ll set up a one-mic in the control room. Or we could just play some CDs. I heard [fiddler] Patrick McAvinue yell, “LET’s PICK!” So the decision was made.
I’ve always said I had the best seat in the house, but this time there’s no room for a chair. It will be an hour of in your face bluegrass for me.”
