It appears that all is not well with popular Massachusetts band, Acoustic Blue.
Since 2006, they have released a half dozen albums, most recently Bein’ Country from earlier this year.
Artistic differences seem to be at the root of the band’s dissolution, announced separately today by guitarist and founder Shaun Batho, and the other three members of the band who will form a new group around mandolinist Corey Zink.
First, from the Zink, Neu, Evans triumvirate:
Due to irreconcilable differences in the membership, Corey Zink, Ray Evans and Larry Neu have dissolved their partnership with Shaun Batho and will be reforming under a different name.
They, along with an additional member to be determined, will continue in the path that has already been laid by years of hard and dedicated work.
They would like to assure fans and friends of the same great performances that have become the trademark of their shows.
Since the change was quite sudden, the new group will be using the name, “the Corey Zink Band”.
Unfortunately, band merchandise will be at a minimum during the transition period and all websites have been closed. This is beyond the control or approval of Corey, Ray or Larry.
Corey, Ray and Larry are intent on maintaining bookings under previous agreements and securing new dates.
Please be assured that every measure of consideration was taken prior to making this difficult decision. Thanks to all the friends, fans, and promoters who are showing support through this challenging period.

It’s with a saddened heart that I must tell you, that after 9 years of hard work and dedication, Acoustic Blue will come to a close. Unfortunately, due to a decision beyond my control I was told that I was no longer needed and had no more to offer the band. So, with this said, Acoustic Blue has disbanded.
I am so grateful to all my family, friends and fans who have supported me and pushed me to become the musician I am. I owe you all so much. So, I am not looking at this as a loss, but a new opportunity. No one never knows what is around the next corner. I still have a whole life of music in front of me.
I look forward to seeing you all down the road somewhere.
The new Corey Zink Band will play the majority of the existing Acoustic Blue shows, but they don’t expect to be regrouped in time to attend the upcoming IBMA week in September.
