Colby Laney back to Volume Five

Event Details

Colby Laney - photo by Ted LehmannGuitarist, vocalist and songwriter Colby Laney has returned to Volume Five, where he worked while attending ETSU a few years ago.

For the past two years he worked with The Larry Stephenson Band, but Laney tells us that when the position opened up again with Volume Five, he felt the pull to return to a performance vehicle where he could have a bit more creative input, and find a home for some of his songs.

He joins Glen Harrell on fiddle, Patton Wages on banjo, Chris Williamson on bass, and Harry Clark on mandolin.

The band is working now at the Mountain Fever studio in Willis, VA where Colby is re-tracking the guitar while the guys finish up a few vocal parts. Two of his songs will be included.

The guys sent along this little sneak peek (turn the volume up).

A debut single for this next album is expected within the next few weeks.

Laney is also working shows at Ole Smoky Distillery in Gatlinburg, TN with Firewater Junction.
