This information will include births and deaths; recording sessions; single, LP and CD release dates; and other interesting tidbits. Richard F. - May 25, 1975 Rebel recording session – Bill Monroe sang tenor to Ralph Stanley’s lead on I’m on My Way Back To the Old Home and Can’t You Hear Me Calling. The Clinch Mountain Boys providing backing were Keith Whitley and Ricky Lee [guitar], Curly Ray Cline [fiddle] and Jack Cooke [bass]. An unknown Dobro player is featured on the second song. *
- May 25, 2000 The 1st Annual Bill Monroe Memorial Day Weekend Bluegrass Festival took place over four days at The Bill Monroe Hometown Memorial Park, Rosine, Kentucky. **
* The two songs were recorded during the 5th Annual Carter Stanley Memorial Festival at McClure, Virginia, which took place from May 23, 1975 through to May 25, 1975. ?They were included on the Ralph Stanley double album Live! At McClure, Virginia (Rebel SLP 1554/1555).
** The event featured James Monroe and the Midnight Ramblers, Jim & Jesse, the Osborne Brothers, Larry Sparks and the Lonesome Ramblers, Eddie & Martha Adcock, and the Wayne Lewis Band among others.
The venue was also the home of the Blue Grass Boys Annual Reunion; and some of the Blue Grass Boys appeared there on May 26 and 27.
