Johnson Mountain Boys reunion this summer

Breaking news from our pal Katy Daley at WAMU’s Bluegrass Country…

In an on-air discussion this morning with Dudley Connell about The Johnson Mountain Boys, it was announced that they will be doing a couple of reunion shows this summer. Performances featuring Dudley, Richard Underwood, Marshall Wilborn, David McLaughlin and special guest Michael Cleveland have been scheduled at the Musicians Against Childhood Cancer and Delaware Valley festivals.

Here’s a clip from the show explaining how this all came about, and why original member Eddie Stubbs won’t be involved.

Maybe Eddie could come and help Katy MC?

Great news for fans of the storied JMB, who played a major role in reviving interest in hard core traditional bluegrass during the 1980s.
