Run Secretariat Run to radio

Event Details

Dale PyattJust about a year ago, Dale Pyatt recorded a song he wrote with Charlie Hall, celebrating the illustrious career of Secretariat, perhaps the most celebrated race horse in the 20th century. It was initially available only through The Secretariat Foundation, but now has been released as the lead single for Dale’s new self-titled album.

Run Secretariat Run isn’t a classic horse racing song, but more a tribute to “Big Red,” as he is known and remembered by fans around the world. But it is a classic bluegrass number with a powerhouse rhythm section featuring Steve Thomas, Jenee Fleenor, and Aaron McDaris.

Have a listen to a sample of this catchy tune, which can also be heard at Airplay Direct.

The new record is available now in digital form, with a CD release set for February 5. Pyatt includes a mix of bluegrass and acoustic country among the record’s 12 tracks.

Dale gained some notoriety in 2012 for Life Goes On, a song he wrote with Steve Thomas. It served as the title track for the IBMA Recorded Event of The Year from Musicians Against Childhood Cancer. It was the only song on the album not recorded live from the MACC stage, as promoter Darrel Adkins felt it so perfectly epitomized the theme of their efforts.

Dale created this music video last Spring to help promote Life Goes On.
