Mountain Soul CD coming soon

Mountain Soul is a new young band based in Knoxville, TN. It’s members have pretty solid resumes, showing time spent with The Grasshoppers, Lovell Sisters, Larkin Poe, Valerie Smith, Dixie Bee-Liners, Robinella and The Watkins Family.

Daniel Kimbo plays bass, Jonathan Maness is on guitar, Cory Kimbro on mandolin and Mike Seal on resonator guitar. Their debut, self-titled CD is due in June and the guys are actively booking now for 2011 and beyond.

Jonathan sent along this one audio sample from the album, and it shows a band with a great deal of promise. The song is Crazy Train, written by Anna Owens, Georgia Leigh Middleman, and Gary Harrison. Maness is singing lead, with Scott Vestal guesting on banjo.

Jonathan tells us that he has a solo project of his own nearing completion. It features him on guitar and vocals, with guest appearances from John Cowan, Sam Bush, April Verch, Rob Ickes, Andy Hall, Scott Vestal, and more. Audio samples are available on Reverb Nation.
