MerleFest 2012 in pictures
The 25th MerleFest was a blast and I had an amazing time shooting all of the spectacular musicians. This was my 5th time at the festival, and even though I wandered around quite a bit from stage to stage, I tended to stay around The Watson Stage the most.
Here is a taste of a great long weekend of music. If it feels Punch Brothers heavy it probably is. They played a great opener set for Saturday night’s headlining Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Great shots! Any idea why Merlefest eliminated the press passes for photographers and only allowed their staff photographers to shoot?
They did reduce the number of passes but some were given out. Jason had one to shoot for us.
Pretty sure the fiddler with John Cowan is Luke Bulla not Bryan.
Good eye – fixed.
Wonderful photo of Alison. Very creative and unusual crop.
