KFC, wet wipes and The Infamous Stringdusters

Kentucky Fried Chicken – or KFC, as they now prefer to be called – is running a clever online promotion for their new sauceless wings. They invited folks to suggest a video concept for finding new uses for the KFC wet wipes, which are apparently no longer required when eating their tasty wings.

Chris Pandolfi, banjoist with The Infamous Stringdusters, took up the challenge, and now finds himself in the finals with a chance to pick up a cool $10,000!

“The last few years I have gotten more and more into video editing/production. At first it was about documenting the Stringdusters tours, and as time passed I got into more creative/conceptual stuff including stop-motion animation. A friend alerted me to this contest on line and I submitted an idea on a whim, because I have been cranking out new videos, looking for more things to do. They selected me for the final 5 so I made this animated short over the past 5 days while on the road with the band.

Thanks to the ‘Dusters for helping me out!”

As a finalist, Chris has already received a $500 cash prize, a new hand-held video camera and 1,000 KFC wipes.

The winner will be chosen entirely by viewer votes, accomplished by “liking” your favorite video in the competition on YouTube. Voting started this morning (1/20) and will continue through Tuesday (1/25) at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

So go vote for Chris’ video – and tell your friends! How cool would it be to see the ‘Dusters in a KFC commercial.
