Kindred Records has announced the release of Not Looking Back, a new Gospel project from Kevin Carter & Full Assurance.
This is the first recording from this Statesville, NC quartet, led by Kevin Carter on guitar and vocals. Full Assurance includes Kevin’s wife, Cindy Carter on mandolin and vocals, Tommy Privette on banjo and Chris Pierce on bass. Guesting on the CD are Billy Hawks on fiddle, Tim Norris on bass, JM Trivette on vocals, and the Carter’s daughter Sarah on bass.
The sound is of the primitive Gospel style, with simple melodies and lyrics, and straight ahead arrangements and instrumentation. 11 of the 12 tracks are Kevin’s compositions.
