It’s Christmas Time Again

Troy Engle is not just a crack correspondent for Bluegrass Today, and an experienced Nashville producer and engineer. He’s also a talented bluegrass picker, singer and songwriter who has spent a good bit of his life as a touring sideman and session player.

This year Troy has combined his considerable skills on a Christmas project, where he plays all the instruments and sings all the parts – and even contributes a pair of brand new bluegrass Christmas songs to the repertoire.

Here’s a listen to the title track, a real down-home original.

Another of Engle’s songs, Salvation Was Born, is included, along with bluegrass holiday favorite Christmas Time’s A ‘Comin and Skip Ewing’s It Wasn’t His Child, mixed in amongst instrumental versions of familiar Yuletide classics.

Like this one which Troy tells has been licensed by Kmart for use in their Christmas advertising. Has anyone caught it yet in an ad?
