- February 14, 1969 Bill Monroe made his first personal appearance in Naples, Italy.
On stage with Bill Monroe were Kenny Baker [fiddle], Roland White [guitar], Vic Jordan [banjo] and James Monroe [bass].
Modern mandolins originated in Naples in the third quarter of the 18th century.
