Grascals and Dierks at BamaJam

The folks who put on the Verizon Wireless Bamajam Music and Arts Festival 2010 earlier this month sent along some great photos of sets by The Grascals and Dierks Bentley.

The Grascals and Bentley – who was promoting his new grassy project (Up On The Ridge) – were the sole bluegrass representatives on a bill that included mainstream country performers like Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Gretchen Wilson, Hank Williams Jr., Jamey Johnson, Travis Tritt, Gregg Allman, and many more.

BamaJam was held June 3-5 in Enterprise, AL drawing a crowd of well over 100,00 people to the area. We are told that there was not a hotel room to be found within a 50 mile radius of the festival site, and the promoters have estimated an economic impact of 6-8 million dollars for Enterprise and Coffee County. This was a big one, folks.

Here are a few photos from the festival’s opening night.

As Dierks said in his recent interview with Bluegrass Today

If country can go pop and go rock, it can certainly go grass.”

Yeah baby!
