Gibson Brothers – Help My Brother

Fellow bluegrass blogger Ted Lehmann has published a lengthy and detailed review of Help My Brother, the new CD from The Gibson Brothers, due February 22 from Compass Records.

Ted goes song-by-song through the album, and includes more than a dozen photos he has taken of the brothers and their band over the years. There are also a number of videos he shot of the guys performing songs featured on the new record, like this one of Frozen In Time.

But this is a review, after all, so what does Lehmann think of Help My Brother? Perhaps you can detect his thoughts in this penultimate paragraph.

“Entertainer of the Year? Sure…why not? Album of the Year? Of course….“Help My Brother” will rise to the top of the charts just as the previous five Gibson Brothers releases have. Their quality, integrity, and gritty commitment to being themselves while producing great music has provided a high standard for years. This CD only adds to and improves that years long record. The Gibson Brothers, in their authentic simplicity, exemplify everything that is good about bluegrass music.”
