Beachley & Scott in the studio

Good news for everyone eagerly awaiting a listen to the new Beachley & Scott band. The group was formed when Quicksilver alums Barry Scott and Darren Beachley joined forces late last year to create a new venture.

Darren shared some news about their activities this week, and their plans for the rest of 2011.

“We have been working up in Sharpsburg, MD right across from Antietam Battlefield with Todd Stotler at Echoes Recording Studio. The house was built in the 1850’s and served as a hospital during the Battle of Antietam, perhaps the bloodiest of all the Civil War battles.

All of us love the historic feel of it. Actually Jason Leek has been as much interested where the Blair Witch was filmed in Burkittsville, MD, seven miles from my house. We all like the scary stuff.

We have been putting in some long 10-12 hour days and things are sounding great; we are very excitied.

Barry and I along with Tim Laughlin, Jason Leek and Shayne Bartley have been super critical of what is a very important debut release for us. We have knocked down 10 tracks so far are we are very happy with the way things are going. Several of the songs are Barry Scott originals, along with some other things that have not been recorded, or haven’t been heard in a while.

We are currently talking with a label, nothing has been agreed on yet, but I think we are close. Our touring schedule for the year is really starting to bloom and we are ramping up for the spring, summer season.”
