Don’t Try To Be Anyone Else premiere from The Bankesters

Looking Forward - The BankestersBluegrass Today is delighted to premiere the music video for Don’t Try To Be Anyone Else from The Bankesters, released today.

The song, by Dan Murph and Lisa Shaffer, is included on their latest CD, Looking Forward, and features three Bankesters sisters in turn, singing lead a verse at a time. Alysha takes the first and Melissa the second, with Emily singing the bridge.

When you watch the video, you’ll see that it is filled with faces, many of them belonging to the various Bankesters. Others that pop on the screen, both children and adults, are folks involved in some way with the bluegrass scene in Nashville. The concept came from director Carlos Torres, who asked the family to get friends and acquaintances to sop by the shoot for a cameo.

After seeing the final edit, papa Phil Bankester thought it might be fun to hold a contest to see who could identify the names that go with the many faces. He prevailed on D’Addario to provide prizes, and whoever posts the longest tally of correct answers, will be awarded the following:

  •  10 sets of EJ16 guitar strings
  • NS Mini Headstock Tuner
  • NS Dual-Action Capo
  • Pro-Winder

Enjoy the video, and then post your guesses in the comments section below. The commenter with the most correct names posted by this Friday (9/21) will be declared the winner.

Have fun!
