Looking Forward hits from The Bankesters

Looking Forward - The BankestersThe latest album from the singing Bankesters, Looking Forward, hit on June 1.

As always, it features Phil and Dorene Bankester and their trio of talented daughters, Melissa, Emily and Alysha.

Or, I should say, this project features the trio. Their earlier releases also included contributions from their sister, Lindsey, who no longer performs with the group.

The only member of the group not raised under the same roof is son-in-law Kyle Triplett, who is married to Melissa. You don’t get much more family-bandy than this.

Last month we posted a snippet from the new album’s almost title track, Looking Forward To Looking Back. Here’s a taste of another – youngest daughter Alysha on a Paula Breedlove and Brad Davis song.

The project, produced by Stephen Mougin of the Sam Bush Band, was already won high praise, including this from Boxcars mandolinist Adam Steffey:

“This new project Looking Forward by The Bankesters is an absolute pleasure to listen to from start to finish! The material, picking, and singing are truly inspiring and if you’re not already a fan, you WILL be! I first heard this group a few years ago and was impressed by all of their talent, but I believe this new recording will take them to an all new level of recognition.”

The CD is available to radio programmers at Airplay Direct and for sale on The Bankesters’ web site. We’ll have a review in short order.
