Niall Toner to Pinecastle

Irish bluegrass singer and songwriter Niall Toner has signed with Pinecastle Records, with a new project set to coincide with Toner’s US tour in the Fall of 2012.

Niall made quite a bit of noise with his single, William Smith Monroe, released during the summer of 2011. It’s a loving look at our dear Father of Bluegrass which received wide airplay from bluegrass radio in the US, Canada, UK and Europe.

His first effort for Pinecastle will be a new set of Toner originals, and he is eager to get to work on the project.

“I am thrilled and delighted to be the first Irish artist signed to Pinecastle Records. It’s a dream come true for me, and an honour to be part of a label roster that includes many of my own musical heroes, like Jesse McReynolds and the Osborne Brothers.

I look forward to working with Lonnie, Ethan, Matt and the entire Pinecastle team. Onwards and upwards.”

Here’s a reprise of the video Niall created for William Smith Monroe. Definitely worth a second look.
