Wally Hughes to Commonwealth Bluegrass

Event Details

Wally HughesRandy Cook & Commonwealth Bluegrass has welcomed fiddler Wally Hughes as an official member of the band.

Hughes has been doing some shows with Randy and the gang since they started playing together recently, and Cook is very pleased to have him onboard.

“We are extremely proud to announce that Wally Hughes is the newest member of Randy Cook and Commonwealth Bluegrass Band. Wally makes his home in Northern Virginia with his wife, Lisa, and a slew of pets and horses. Wally is very well-known in the world of bluegrass and brings a wealth of talent and experience to the group. He will be playing both fiddle and dobro.

Wally is also a great lead and harmony singer. As many of you know, Wally has been playing acoustic music for many years and has played with the likes of Mike Auldridge, Bill Emerson, Mike Munford and Steve Huber. We welcome Wally to the band and look forward to his contributions to our sound and our performances.”

Wally joins Cook on mandolin, Malcolm Pulley on banjo, Jason Owen on guitar, and Lance Seal on bass.

Here is a video of the band performing one of the tracks from their debut CD, I Put The Hammer Down.
