On February 26 James Reams was in Owensboro, KY for the presentation of a memorial plaque for his long-time partner Tina Aridas at the International Bluegrass Music Museum.
Tina, who was lost to cancer on February 6, 2011, was a devoted promoter of bluegrass – especially James’ music – and an active member of the International Bluegrass Music Association. The plaque honors Aridas for her help in establishing a library at the museum, through her donation of a large number of books from her own collection.
Reams took the opportunity of this presentation to make an additional financial gift to the museum, and donated another book to the library, a limited edition of America’s Music: Bluegrass, by Barry Willis.
The plaque will be displayed in the IBMM library as a remembrance.
