The Loar debuts solid wood mandolin

The Loar solid wood F-style mandolinThe Music Link has announced their latest instrument, a solid wood “F-style” mandolin, designed in collaboration with Greg Rich, who was also a crucial partner in resurrecting their Recording King banjo line.

This new instrument (LM-500-VS) is the first mandolin from their vintage acoustics division, known as The Loar. It features a spruce top, flamed maple back, sides and neck, all made with solid, premium grade woods. Appointments are styled to resemble the instruments from which the company’s name is taken, which they describe as “Golden Age” styling.

Like the other Music Link lines (Johnson, Recording King, Paris Swing), The Loar mandolin is offered through music dealers worldwide. It will carry a retail price of $799.99.
